Fall Getaway

Yesterday my friend Ashton and I decided to go for a ride up huntington canyon. It was beautiful to see the fall leaves on the trees changing colors. We had an interesting time when i decided to lose my shirt and vest on the top of the trail and decided to walk most of the way back up it instead of riding and still didn't manage to find them... guess thats a new project in the next day or two.

Halloween beggining

I was checking out a magazine and seen a cute idea on how to decorate my house without spending alot of money or taking up alot of room but it still looks like i did alot. needless to say it turned out to be way more of a project than i thought it would be, but i like the results. i'm still not finished but this is what me and the kids have accomplished so far.

weekends works

Friday after doing some grocery shopping, the kids and I went to my moms to help her bottle some soup. The kids spent more time eating popsicles than helping much, but i think thats better.

Then saturday we decided that i would be fun to go on the desert and do some skeet shooting with Eddie and Karidon. we spent almost the whole afternoon shooting.

Now we're just counting down the days until the hunts start!

The other thing we did was try out the kids halloween costumes- I think KAylee will be dorothy and Wyatt will be the cowardly lion

"snakey snakey"

So yesterday, after coming home from my moms house, I opened the door to find a snake in my hallway. After chasing it into a bucket so i could show josh when he got home, I realized it was still there this morning so i decided to be nice and let it go- but only after listening to what the little devil on my shoulder had to say and showing my cat that it was loose. needless to say.. its been the entertainment of my morning

Me and KAylee decided to make some fresh rolls yesterday to go with our soup- and figured while we were at it- we would make some buter too. Ever wonder what it looks like? Plus its nice to have real buttermilk that doesn't taste like sour cream

New puppies, New messes

So there have been some good things and some bad things go on the last few days. Friday night, a few dogs killed one of our little puppies. Josh's favorite. So we took the other two up the mountain with us and went camping for the weekend. Saturday night we had elk bugling at us from all sides as we called to them and sat around the campfire. Sunday morning we went for a walk and found bushes and bushes covered in what was left of the wild raspberries for the year. Unfortunately as I went to pick up our two new puppies this morning (which was supposed to bring our total to five) I found that those same dogs had killed another one. so in a matter of 4 days we lost two and gained  two puppies.

Have you ever noticed how fast kids can get into mischief- and the weird things that they do? This was our most recent one today and the most interesting....Toothpaste in the car

Yummy isn't it

driving me crazy

My kids have been driving me absolutely crazy lately. They argue with me about everything and destroy everything within sight. Yesterday Kaylee decided it would be fun to fill my toilet with baby wipes and flood my entire bathroom and hallway, clear into my kitchen- about twenty minutes after i mopped the floor and wyatt decided that it would be fun to get in my car and start it- among other things. So i've decided that to brighten my feelings with them momentarily- I'm going to post some of my favorite pictures of them at fun cute times lol.

The rest of the weekend is going to be spent up the mountain freezing our bums off, trying to find a big buck for me to shoot this year with my first deer tag. i'm getting super excited. so hopefully everything cools off and next week can start off good after an amazing weekend.

Schooling starts

Even though it was another day that Josh was able to stay home with us, we spent the day being lazy.
I decided to start doing some school work with Wyatt in his new book today. Even though he pretends to say the wrong answers like he doesn't know, when you get him to be honest and quit teasing, its amazing how smart he really is. He never ceases to amaze me.

After he was finished with his work for the day, I decided that I should get to work on some biology work while I had the time and nothing else real productive to do. But even when I tried to escape to the back lawn for a little bit of quiet. I was followed.

(notice the cute mark he acquired on his cheek yesterday)

Overall it was an awsome weekend. Too bad we can't start it all over again!

How much wood can a wood chuck chuck?

How much wood can a woodchuck chuck? I don't know- but i learned that you get a few busy people together with a big dump bed trailer and 3 chain saws, and you can fill that trailer a few times really quick. We spend the afternoon up gentry, hauling wood with some friends. I must say that it isn't something i would choose to do as a hobby- but once in a while, i love it. Especailly the scenery. I didn't have my camera, so I didn't take any pictures- but you know i can't go without posting a few. So i found some that look pretty darn close to where we were at.

Its one of my favorite places in the world, and it definately got my blood pumping with excitement to go hunting. This is the first year that i've drawn a deer tag, and to top it off I've got my first spike tag too. Needless to say I'm super excited. I won't be able to stay in camp cooking up goodies while my kids play and i hear the elk around me, but one day they will be old enough to go with me, and majority of the time i'm sure its going to be Josh that has the tag.
My day was beautiful, and considering tomorrow is Labor day and Josh will be home, I hope its another awsome day. Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend!

Long day at Lagoon

At a very last moment decision at 5 o clock last night- we decided to take a trip to Lagoon today with our friends Eddie and Karidon. Having been about 7 years since I had been there last- I was excited and yet entirely nervous because I have never been a huge fan of rollar coaster rides- although it was probably the funnest time i have had there yet. The funniest moment was probably on the spider-

Josh was thoroughly terrified and I must admit the first couple turns were rather scary- and then the second half of the ride, i couldnt stop laughing because of the reaction josh was giving,
second funniest was the ferris wheel- as Eddie was as scared of it as josh was the spider

But I must admit that the scariest thing in the world was the rocket- I swear, had it dropped ten more feet at that speed, i would have passed out. I will never ride it again.

After we tired of Lagoon, we spent a short time shopping at the mall and one or two other stores on the way home. But I can tell you that even though I was so thankful that my mom and dad took my kids for the day so that Josh and I could enjoy a day together with some friends, I was super glad to see my kids when I got home.
